Because of our unique model, Mikva Challenge is active in associations that span education, youth development, civics, democracy and elections field-building. This footprint Current collaborators include National Education Association (NEA) CivXNow coalition, partnerships with the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), the Common Good Collaborative, National Action Civics Collaborative, National Council for Teaching English, National Council of Social Studies, When We All Vote and Rock the Vote.
We will also connect with local-neighborhood organizations, civic leaders, and elected officials to support youth leadership. Mikva Challenge also collaborates with 30+ school districts across the country that we currently partner with.

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
When the COVID-19 pandemic broke out in March of 2020, Mikva
Challenge adapted rapidly to provide urgent support youth and educators across the country. We immediately went to work retooling lessons
for remote learning, moving traditionally in-person showcases and Soapboxes online, and creating virtual spaces where youth leaders could continue to advocate for their issues and ideas. Teachers and students faced incredible barriers in engagement and collaboration as our nation went on lockdown.
Despite the hurdles, Mikva events were filled with energy, hope and passion.
Through the upheaval and challenges Mikva nonetheless saw exceptional growth. Mikva training and curricula programs expanded into more than twenty states. Mikva Challenge’s Founding Chapters in Chicago and
Washington, DC continued to serve as innovation hubs for civics and youth voice, inspiring other counties, cities and states to partner with us. New sites include Cobb County (GA), Wilmington (DE), Rochester
(NY), Louisville (KY), Riverside (CA), New Hampshire, Detroit and Macomb County (MI), Madison (WI) and Milwaukee (WI).
Moving forward, Mikva is doubling down on our core values of amplifying youth voice, fighting for equity, and empowering our youth
leaders. These goals will be at the forefront of all we do.
Through strategic
planning this year we will further define our values — centered in equity
and justice — continually working to operationalize them in our work, both
externally and internally.
