CrossWalk Center can not deliver ALL wrap-around services and ministry individuals leaving incarceration need to reenter society well and stay free-it 'takes a village'. By MOU, CWC partners with 'best in class' organizations that help us deliver a holistic re-entry and reintegration program for women and men.
CrossWalk Center serves as the hub, the catalyst and convener for re-entry ministry and services. We have partnerships with organizations that provide our men and women services in Six Areas of Need:
SPIRITUAL: Churches that serve as 'Adoptive Home Churches'
PHYSICAL: Food and clothing, addiction recovery, mental health and basic healthcare and nutrition
ENVIRONMENTAL: Second Chance employment advocacy and placement
EMOTIONAL: Ministries & licensed individuals providing trauma counseling, anger management, & recovery from isolation & stigma of incarceration
INTELLECTUAL: Non-profits offering Skills training, GEDs
SOCIAL: Churches offering fun & healthy activities

Adapting is shifting or pivoting to new conditions. In the past year year there have been three external changes directly impacting CrossWalk Center: 1. Continued consequences of Covid, 2. Inflated Housing Prices and Low Inventory, 3. Economic down-turn - the recession/inflation.
1a. Continue to expand remote video conferencing into prisons to deliver character development & re-entry discipleship
1b. Increased Community Outreach & Engagement by implementing cost-effective van tours of 'A Day In The Life of Re-entry', walking in the footsteps on an inmate's release day. Less time & cost then large scale events.
2. Altered financial sustainability model for our new houses to meet higher market prices due to low inventory. Waited longer than before to secure two new homes, two less than the four outlined in the strategic plan for the FY.
3. Implemented cost recovery plan for needed items when women and men are released but are costly: clothing, tranportation, cell phone and plan.
