Impact Information

Classy created Progress to help nonprofits and social enterprises articulate their performance by combining qualitative insights on program strategies and beneficiaries, with quantitative metrics on social problems, short term outputs and long term intended outcomes.  Learn More about Impact Information.
Program Name: The Keep It In The Ground Alliance
Problem

Indigenous and frontline communities, scientists, activists, and nonprofits throughout the world are all working to keep fossil fuels in the ground. However, those efforts are rarely coordinated and even sometimes at odds with each other. We are leading a strategic effort to join forces to keep fossil fuels in the ground and avert catastrophic climate change, environmental destruction and human rights abuses.

Strategy

We are coordinating and strengthening the efforts of indigenous and grassroots leaders, academics, and NGO leaders to keep fossil fuels in the ground. We all have the same goal, but a coordinating space is necessary to ensure that all of our work is as strategic and effective as possible, that we are working together as a team on the most important game of our lives rather than a group of first graders all running after the same soccer ball.

IF:THEN

IF We are able to unite to keep fossil fuels in the ground...

THEN We can avert catastrophic climate change.
