Mission Statement
Providence House protects at-risk children and supports families through crisis, strengthening communities to end child abuse and neglect.

Vision Statement
Children everywhere are raised in safe, loving families free from abuse and neglect.

About Us
Providence House, Inc. was founded in 1981 to provide emergency shelter for children in Cleveland whose families were experiencing a crisis. As Ohio's first licensed crisis nursery, we offer free, voluntary (non-custodial) shelter to children newborn through twelve years old who live in situations which place them at risk of abuse or neglect. Our program is focused on child abuse prevention and family preservation and serves nearly 400 children annually. Providence House services address the specific needs of the child and parent through a two-generation approach to help protect children, stabilize family crisis and establish a solid foundation for their future.
