In accordance with our policy for removing CN Advisories, Charity Navigator removed the Moderate Concern CN Advisory for the United Way of Mercer County on April 1, 2020, because the CN Advisory has been in place for more than a year (since February 25, 2019).
Charity Navigator had published a Moderate Concern CN Advisory on United Way of Mercer County because we became aware of the following information in connection with this charity:
United Way of Mercer County’s 03/2018 audit states that United Way of Mercer County has a “Qualified Opinion” that is outlined in the "Basis for Qualified Opinion". It reads, “Pursuant to the Agency's request, we did not attempt to confirm annual campaign revenues and pledge receivables through direct correspondence with the significant amount of donors, and were unable to obtain sufficient appropriate audit evidence about annual campaign revenues and pledge receivables by other auditing procedures..” For this reason, we have issued this Moderate Concern CN Advisory.
