Impact Information

Classy created Progress to help nonprofits and social enterprises articulate their performance by combining qualitative insights on program strategies and beneficiaries, with quantitative metrics on social problems, short term outputs and long term intended outcomes.  Learn More about Impact Information.
Program Name: Project Launch
Problem

Many young people in Lynn are searching for a place to belong and the strength to move forward in their lives. Early experiences with prolonged stress, and related trauma can undermine their ability to learn, form relationships, and function well in a classroom. Each of these affects their chances for long-term success. The drop-out rate in our school district is twice the state average. These students are nearly four times more likely to drop out of college. Mental health is a proven factor.

Strategy

Using art therapy techniques, we offer alternative opportunities for development, learning, and success during the after-school hours.

IF:THEN

IF If youth are SEEN and HEARD by adults...

THEN they can strengthen their identity and build their sense of community, eventually embodying resiliency, self-efficacy, and personal fulfillment, and community engagement. These outcomes are the precursors to academic and life fulfilment.
