07/01/2015-09/01/2017: Moderate Concern Advisory

In accordance with our policy for removing a CN Advisory, Charity Navigator removed the Moderate Concern Advisory from the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota on September 1, 2017 because the issues identified have since been resolved or are no longer relevant.

Charity Navigator had placed a Moderate Concern Advisory on the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota because we became aware of the following information:

  • On June 10, 2015, The StarTribune reported on the charges of improper conduct allegedly taking place at Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota, in an article titled, "Minnesota AG sues Epilepsy Foundation over link with Savers." For this reason, we have issued a Moderate Concern CN Advisory as the allegations have yet to be confirmed. For more information regarding this matter, please see The StarTribune article. Please also see Charity Navigator's CN Advisory on Savers LLC.

    • On June 25, 2015, The StarTribune published an article titled, "Savers stores settles Minnesota attorney general lawsuit, will modify donations practices." For more information, please see The StarTribune article.
