Historical CN Advisories

11/26/2019-12/31/2020: Moderate Concern Advisory

In accordance with our policy for removing CN Advisories, Charity Navigator removed the Moderate Concern CN Advisory for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra on December 31, 2020, because the CN Advisory has been in place for more than a year (since November 26, 2019).

Charity Navigator had published a Moderate Concern CN Advisory on Baltimore Symphony Orchestra because we became aware of the following information in connection with this charity:

  • Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s audit states that Baltimore Symphony Orchestra has an “Emphasis of Matter Regarding Going Concern” that is outlined in Note 2. It reads, “the Symphony has experienced, and continues to experience, significant decreases in unrestricted net assets. These conditions raise substantial doubt regarding the Symphony's ability to continue as a going concern..” For this reason, we have issued this Moderate Concern CN Advisory. For more information, please see the FYE 2018 Audit.
