With over 98 years of experience, Ramapo for Children has developed a unique ability to create inclusive environments that promote positive behavioral change, foster skill development, and help support learning and personal growth. At the heart of the Ramapo approach is our ability to equip educators, caregivers, and youth with the skills they need to build trusting relationships, serve as effective role models, handle challenging behaviors constructively, and improve continuously through reflective practice.

A few years ago, as a result of feedback from year-round and summer staff, Ramapo began to make it a priority to educate senior staff about racial equity and develop a plan to began to view the organization and our work through a racial equity lens We have since made changes to our staff training, personnel protocols, and our approach, which guides all of our work, and are in the process of updating all of our programs and curriculum to reflect this work
