This donor advisory was published on Wednesday, May 9, 2012

  • On May 4, 2012, The New York Times reported that a former employee of Trinity Broadcasting Network has two pending lawsuits against the charity which allege company-paid luxuries that appear to violate the IRS’s ban on excess compensation by nonprofit organizations as well as possibly state and federals laws on false bookkeeping and self-dealing. The employee is the granddaughter of the charity’s leaders, Paul and Janice Crouch.
  • The Orange County Register has also been reporting about the charges leveled by the granddaughter of Trinity Broadcasting Network’s Paul and Jan Crouch. You can follow their reporting here.
  • On September 18, 2012, the Orange County Register reported that "federal judge David O. Carter threatened to brand the mighty Trinity Broadcasting Network a “vexatious litigant” and forbid it from filing more lawsuits against the granddaughter of Trinity's founders." The judge went on to note that "plaintiff Trinity has brought, either directly or through its corporate agents, at least six lawsuits against Michael and Brittany (Koper) since terminating them on September 30, 2011." For more information, see the newspaper's blog post
  • On December 26, 2013, The Christian Post reported that Carra Crouch, granddaughter of televangelists Jan and Paul Crouch, sued TBN, her grandmother, and TBN attorney John Castoria "alleging that they failed to report her rape to the police. Carra alleges that the California's Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act required Jan to report this crime." It is reported that "Carra's case is scheduled to go to trial on July 21, 2014." For more information, see The Christian Post article.
  • On February 3rd, 2015, "Brittany Koper, a granddaughter of Paul Crouch Sr., [...] alleged in a lawsuit filed Thursday [January 29, 2015] that top bosses in the organization threatened her life with a gun and fired her and her husband, Michael, [in 2011] after she refused to illegally funnel some $100 million of charitable assets to their personal accounts."
