Highly Rated Charities Addressing Domestic Violence

The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence reports that “1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner contact sexual violence, and/or intimate partner stalking with impacts such as injury, fearfulness, post-traumatic stress disorder, use of victim services, contraction of sexually transmitted diseases, etc.” 

This very sobering statistic underscores the need for more education, awareness, public policy change, and advocacy for the millions of individuals, regardless of race, age, gender, and sexual orientation, who are subjected to and affected by violent relationships. Domestic violence expands further than just bruises and black eyes; it includes humiliation, manipulation, threats, isolation, stalking and more. There are nonprofits working tirelessly to address these needs.
