We are now entering our busiest time of year as many of you begin to make your holiday giving decisions. We hope you find the new CN 2.0 rating tool of value in that process. We continue to have a lot of positive reactions to our launch of CN 2.0. In addition, we were asked to blog about the launch by both Craig Newmark for his craigconnects blog and by Sean Stannard-Stockton for his Tactical Philanthropy blog. We also have gotten some wonderful feedback from you, our users. Thanks so much for the words of support!
In our continuing effort to continuously deepen and improve our rating system, we held the first meeting of a Financial Metrics Task Force to take a look back at our traditional measures of financial health. We hope that their work will lead to the development of an even deeper and more robust set of financial measures for us to include in our rating system going forward. We have also expanded our relationship with universities around the country to continue our work on development of CN 3.0. We are especially excited to have faculty and students from around the country joining the effort to help us research and survey nonprofits on our developing prototype which we hope to launch (for at least one charity cause area) by the end of next year.
Finally, we know that about 40% of all charitable gifts are made during the last two months of the year. Check out our Holiday Giving Guide for tips on how to make the most of your year-end giving. And we hope that those of you who do intend to make donations during this time will also include Charity Navigator in your plans!
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Until next time, all the best,
