Nora Lam Chinese Ministries International

Spreading the Gospel and providing aid to the poor

outraged

I was outraged and disgusted over the fact that I received a guilt laden solicitation along with a blanket asking to save the children in China...Don't send that blanket to me, send it to China!!! It is a pathetic use of the funds good people give thinking they are making a difference in the lives of the poor and unwanted. I'm sure those who give would never intend to pad the pockets of those running this charity.

These comments pretty much verify my feelings. I really enjoyed the movie though, "China Cry"...Julia Nickson stars as Nora Lamm. I too had given in the past, but they do seem evasive on some information. Plus I do have a problem with the salaries. $183k for a Treasurer and $138k for the President seems like a lot for a Ministry.

alot of money seems to be wasted..

I got a letter in the mail about helping to get blankets and bibles to the orphaned little girls in China. They sent a blanket in the mail to me with the request for donations. What, I ask, is the purpose of that? What a waste of money! If Chinese babies need them so badly, why are they sending them to us with a solicitation instead of the orphans?? Maybe things were run differently when Nora Lam was alive, but I wouldn't donate to these people, they waste alot of resources they could be using elsewhere.

I received a donation letter solicitation. It had a check for $10 dollars made out to me saying I shoudl cash it and send the money back to them with additional funds or simply keep the check. I dont know this charity but it si the weirdest and msot suspicious mailer I have ever gotten.

Horrible Non-Profit Organization

This organization is closest to a scam. I donated years ago, and never got a response from them. Two years later, I constantly get newsletters and letters asking for more donations. I never found out where my money went, or how my money was used. I also get many phone calls asking to be a contributor. I asked the caller to transfer me to their manager working in the office so that I could get off the call list. The woman told me that she was out of town. Funny thing is, I never got to speak to the head manager, Ruth Kendrick working at Thronwood office.

Persistence vs Hounding

Do NOT give to this charity. Unless you like to be hounded for years to come. More than five years ago, I contributed to this charity. For the next two years, I received "pleas" for more money. I, along with others, pleaded to the State of California to intercede and have this company STOP the pleas. It worked for two years, but has started up again.
