Rotary is transparent

The Rotary Foundation and Rotary International are two of the most transparent organization anywhere. Detailed financial statements are all at www.Rotary.org. Audited financial statements, investment profile, income tax reports, even the RI president's and trustee chair's personal expense reports on the website. There are oversight committees of Rotarians for investment and another committee for financials. Anyone who says they don’t have access has never looked. Regular financial updates are posted on the RI website and sent to every DG.

Dear Rubber: The identities of the trustees of the Rotary Foundation can be found by going on its website and typing trustees in the internal search engine. Re accountability, this is an excellent question and perhaps you should bring it up with the RF liaison in your district. KKS

Yes, the Rotary Foundation approves and supports projects within their movement that fit the Rotary designated objectives, with some important work worldwide. As a Rotarian however, I struggle to find an audit trail of accountability for the central running of the Foundation, along with the identity and background of the Trustees.

Dear Belgo 4.0 I googled all three of your names and there are no references to Rotary so please explain yourself. I have been a Rotarian for 15 years and have seen firsthand, the positive benefits that the Rotary Foundation generates. Rotary clubs around the world provide the local, project infrastructure and the Rotary Foundation requires detailed project reports that ensure projects are properly managed.
well I put an information it was dismissed

disclaimer- I am a Rotarian and our club's Rotary Foundation Chair. I wanted to ensure this organisation is non-corrupt, so I Googled Rotary Foundation and Scandal, got nothing back suggesting any significant problem with the RF's ethics. They are VERY careful with stewardship of the funds donated by and to Rotary clubs for the various charitable projects worldwide. Rotary is a very 'business-like' organisation, in the best sense of the word, and I am happy to endorse it. Polio eradication is its current goal, in partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and WHO.

Rotary Scandals
Posted by Steve W | November 12, 2009 5:56:09 AM
Belgo4.0, I am a 30 year Rotarian and past Predident of our club in Virginia. I too googled the names given and had only a hit in French and a book list referring to one of them. Rotary does a varied mix of large and small projects. Only irregularities I have ever heard of are a very rare cases of misrepresentation on the receiving side. Rotary reporting requirements and club to club contacts turn it up quickly and the project halted. Very small projects as single wells, micro banks, clinic medical supplies and the like are often not done because they are so difficult to oversee. We do them and well, knowing that in rare instances some won't work. Happily the people to people nature of our club to club contacts keeps this type of fraud to a bare minimum and our good works continuing.
