This is a very well run and effective organization. As a retired Army officer I can tell you I personaly saw them step in and assist junior servicemen in need of both comfort and financial assistance. They do require that the serviceman do what he can to pay them back so they can help another. Well worth the donation. The other charity that is at the top of my list is the Salvation Army. They go above and beyond everyone else to assist regardless of who you are. They also call you back and personaly thank you when you make a donation. Both of these organizations will be on my list f=this Christmas. Merry Christmas to all.
On my permanent list - a no nonsense charity.

I appreciate this charity as I get a thank you letter after donating and that is it. Thus far, they have not sent me any address labels or calendars. Plus, as best I can tell, my information has remained off any similar charity lists. I plan to give to them every year as I feel they are focused on their charitable efforts and not handing out unnecessary tokens of appreciation.

AER help me in the early 60's when I was stationed in Italy. I was able to go home for my step dads funeral.
