Grants vs. Donations

I am wondering how much of this Charity's operating capital is coming from government grants as opposed from donations. I think that they are receiving large blocks from HUD, VA and other agencies. They seem to hold seminars that you have to pay to attend in various cities as "former lobbyists" in power suits with a small staff supposedly.
They quickly seem to follow though the party line of whoever is in office as to what wind is blowing at the time with no back bone to what is actually occurring on the streets of homelessness.

Grants vs. Donations

The Alliance has not received any government funds since 2000 and we do not have any lobbyists on our staff. The majority of our funding comes from corporations (45 percent) and foundations (33 percent). Individual donations and money raised at conferences we hold comprise the rest of the funding.
In 2000 we challenged America and the administration at that time to stop managing the problem of homelessness and work to end it in ten years. Since then over 300 communities have stepped up to meet that challenge by developing plans to end homelessness. In 2001 the Bush administration adopted our plan and set forth to end chronic homelessness in ten years. One result of this effort is the decline in the number of people experiencing chronic homelessness between 2005 and 2006, and significant reductions in the numbers of families and individuals experiencing homelessness in certain communities, despite the economic challenges our country is facing. After the 2008 election, we will work with the new administration, whether Republican or Democrat, to further reduce and, we hope, ultimately end the tragedy of homelessness, which exists regardless of what party line is in office.
