Mission

Founded in 1903, Fauna & Flora International was the world's first international conservation organization. We work through local partnerships to act as a catalyst for change, to make conservation relevant and to base decisions on sound science. Fauna & Flora International empowers in-country partners to address locally identified priorities, recognizing that conservation cannot rely on the work of outsiders in the long term. It is crucial to develop local support and institutional frameworks capable of conserving their own biodiversity. We recognize that threats to biodiversity are the outcome of a complex array of underlying social, economic and political pressures. Fauna & Flora International aims to change the policy and behaviour that contribute to biodiversity loss.
