Mission

Boca Helping Hands first opened as a food center in November, 1998. Our mission is to provide compassionate service through food and assistance programs to individuals, families, and children to instill dignity and break the cycle of dependence. Currently we serve five after-school programs for low-income children during the school year, making and delivering over 60,000 sandwiches annually to approximately 360 children. The Food Program has expanded to five days a week and includes delivering home cooked meals to homebound disabled and elderly individuals. The Assistance Center was opened in April, 2002, and offers limited financial help in crisis situations. It also assists individuals in finding a job, preparing resumes and mentoring for job interviews through its Job Program.
