Mission
Loyola University Chicago, a private university founded in 1870 as St. Ignatius College, is the nation's largest Jesuit, Catholic University and the only one located in Chicago. It is the school of choice for those who wish to seek new knowledge in the service of humanity in a world-renowned urban center as members of a diverse learning community that values freedom of inquiry, the pursuit of truth and care for others. Loyola University Chicago is comprised of four campuses and is home to ten schools and colleges: arts and sciences, business administration, communication, education, graduate studies, law, medicine, nursing, continuing and professional studies, and social work.
