Mission

Established in 1994, PetSmart Charities creates and supports programs that save the lives of homeless pets, raise awareness of companion animal welfare issues, and promote healthy relationships between people and pets. The largest funder of animal welfare efforts in North America, PetSmart Charities to date has funded more than $88 million in grants and programs benefiting animal welfare organizations. PetSmart Charities partners with and provides funding to more than 2,500 local animal welfare organizations and shelters, helping them to provide spay and neuter services for dogs and cats; assist pets in disaster situations; and find lifelong, loving new homes for approximately 400,000 dogs, cats and small animals every year - over four million pets altogether - through PetSmart Charities' adoption centers, located in every PetSmart store.
