Mission

The Association for Community Broadcasting (ACB) is a Houston-based organization charged with three main directives: raise funds for the operation of Houston PBS, Channel 8 and Houston Public Radio, KUHF; increase community awareness of public television and radio; and represent the interests of the greater Gulf Coast Community. ACB has raised more than $93 million and made Houston PBS, Channel 8 and KUHF well-known and highly valued community resources. ACB also helped raise nearly $16 million to build the LeRoy and Lucile Melcher Center for Public Broadcasting, which opened in 2000. ACB is proud to help support the programming and services that Houston PBS and Houston Public Radio deliver to the people of southeast Texas.
