Mission

The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County's mission is to provide nourishment to those in need by acquiring and distributing safe nutritious foods via local agencies and providing education to solve hunger and nutritional problems in Santa Barbara County. During 2008, the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County distributed eight million pounds of food (of which two million pounds was fresh produce) from two warehouse locations in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria. In 2008, over 125,000 people in Santa Barbara County were served by the Foodbank's member agency network of 220 nonprofit social service agencies and programs.
