Mission

As Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's nonprofit advocate and partner, the Cleveland Zoological Society is committed to raising awareness of the Zoo as a community priority by improving all aspects of the Zoo from exhibits to programs to daily operations, and by giving guests, members and donors great value for their investment. Founded in 1957, the Zoo Society engages the community in advancing the Zoo through a variety of programs. The strong public/private partnership between the Zoo and the Zoo Society facilitates continuous improvements at the Zoo and contributes significantly to the quality of life in our region. With an average annual attendance of more than 1.2 million visitors, the Zoo and Zoo Society are recognized as leading advocates in conservation education.
