Mission

With 45 years of service, Americans for the Arts is dedicated to representing and serving local communities and creating opportunities for every American to participate in and appreciate all forms of the arts. With offices in Washington, D.C. and New York we are focused on three primary goals: to foster an environment in which the arts can thrive and contribute to the creation of more livable communities; to generate more public- and private-sector resources for the arts and arts education; and to build individual appreciation of the value of the arts. We provide extensive arts industry research, and information and professional development opportunities for community arts leaders via specialized programs and services, including a content-rich website and an annual national convention.
