Mission

Founded in 1978, Kids in Crisis provides free, round-the-clock help for Fairfield County children, teens and parents of all socio-economic levels dealing with any type of family crisis or pressure. Kids in Crisis provides free, temporary shelter, therapeutic counseling, comprehensive medical care and specialized educational support for children struggling with a wide range of issues including abuse, neglect, abandonment, family health issues and family conflict. Our mission is a simple one: to keep every child safe and sound. More than 89,000 families and children have been helped by Kids in Crisis, through use of our temporary shelters, crisis intervention services or community programs throughout Fairfield County. Last year, Kids in Crisis provided assistance to more than 9,200 area children and adults.
