Mission

Founded in 1994, RAFT (Resource Area for Teaching) believes hands-on teaching is the best way for our children to learn, so we provide teachers and community groups with creative tools and materials to promote hands-on learning in science, math, technology, and art. Everyday items like computers, office supplies, and manufacturing by-products are donated to RAFT by over 1,000 local businesses and transformed into hands-on learning experiences. In addition to the ideas and materials RAFT supplies to support hands-on learning activities, we also provide professional development classes, workshops, continuing education units, and informal gatherings where members can share their ideas.
