Hurricane Otis, an unprecedented Category 5 storm with winds reaching 165 mph, made a devastating landfall near Acapulco, Mexico. Marked as the most potent storm ever to impact Mexico, Otis underwent the most rapid intensification observed in the northeastern Pacific, escalating its winds by 90 mph within just 12 hours.
