    Empowerment and Livelihoods for Adolescents: In girls-only safe spaces (Empowerment and Livelihoods for Adolescents Clubs), girls in Uganda receive training in life skills, confidence building, financial literacy and specific livelihoods, and older girls receive microloans to start businesses.

    Impact score of this program is based on the incremental cost to provide an increase earnings for adolescent girls. If the program is found to provide an increase in income greater than $1.50 for every $1 spent, it is deemed highly cost-effective. If the program provides an increase in income greater than $0.85 for every $1 spent, it is considered cost-effective. If the nonprofit doesn't meet this benchmark for cost-effectiveness, it earns a score of 65. This program increased the income of beneficiaries by more than $1.50 for every $1 spent.

    Analysis conducted in 2018 by Charity Navigator's acquired branch, ImpactMatters, using data from solicited nonprofits and publically available data from the IRS.

    Outcome data collected by BRAC USA through a survey of program participants in 100 treatment communities and non-participants in 50 control communities. Cost information for this program was collected from nonprofit reporting and form 990 data from the IRS.
