What are this organization’s external mobilizaton efforts?
We maintain and active social media presence which includes platforms like Facebook and Tiktok. We are an active member of Cobb Foot Fleet a local group of other non-profits in the food space. We partner with local elementary schools and local senior housing communities to help with food security. We are also a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Cobb Collaborative.
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Reflections of Trinity has 3 box trucks that all had significant repair needs this past year which presented some challenges. We discovered it can take weeks (in some cases as much as 2 months) wait time to get trucks repaired. The garage cited a labor shortage and difficulty in getting parts as the main cause of the excessive wait times. As an enabled partner agency with the Atlanta Community Food Bank, we pick up food items from several grocery stores in the area and having trucks continually in the shop impeded our ability to function effectively. We contacted every truck rental company in greater metro Atlanta, only to find out that they had no availability due to a retailer reserving every available truck with a lift gate for several months at a time. We investigated buying new trucks only to find none available. When we looked into purchasing a used truck, they were either out of state or came with problems of their own. We reached out to several of our connections for advice. Ultimately we were able to raise funds from several of our donors so that we could repair the trucks we have and keep them on the road supporting our mission.
