Vision

Until a cure is found for ALS, we hope to help to provide a better quality of life for people living with ALS by providing them with assistance in the areas of professional respite care for them and their caregivers, equipment necessary for communication and transport, and home adjustments and renovations for PALS to enjoy some level of freedom and independence in their own homes.

Goals

1. 1.We wish to expand our programs nationally other than to just residents of Maryland and Texas. We hope also to increase the size of our grant awards to help PALS with the devastating financial costs of ALS. Additionally, we hope to be able to increase the number of applicants that seek our grants.
2. 2.We hope to build connections with other local and national ALS organizations, with assistive technology companies that specialize in assisting ALS patients, and with advocacy groups seeking to enhance awareness of the disease and pass national legislation that simplifies the process for PALS of applying for federal aid and participating in experimental clinical trials that involve this disease.
3. 3.We hope to be able to afford more staff members specializing in the areas of marketing and development. Two and a half staff now cover development and fundraising, marketing, Special Events organizing, program implementation, and all other tasks necessary to the running of the Foundation. With a larger capacity, we feel we would be far more effective in realizing our larger goals.
