Empowering Our Community: At the Merced Cancer Society Foundation, our mission is to empower individuals and families affected by cancer by providing essential resources, compassionate support, and a network of care that fosters hope and resilience. Cancer can shatter lives in an instant, stripping away health, security, and hope. It disrupts daily routines, imposes financial burdens, and inflicts emotional pain on patients and their loved ones. The journey through cancer is often fraught with fear and uncertainty, making the need for compassionate support and comprehensive resources even more critical. Our foundation was born from the belief that no one should choose between life-saving treatment and putting food on the table. We help with the everyday costs that can quickly become overwhelming such as transportation to and from treatments, groceries, gas cards, assistance with insurance deductibles, & childcare when parents are undergoing therapy. These are the hidden costs of cancer that often go unnoticed but can make all the difference in a patient's journey. But our support doesn't stop there. We know that navigating the complex world of cancer care can be overwhelming. We connect patients with these vital supports, ensuring they have access to everything from meal delivery services to support groups, helping them manage the broader social and economic impacts of their diagnosis. We believe that empowering patients financially empowers them in their fight against cancer. By alleviating monetary stress, we give patients the freedom to direct all their energy towards getting well.
