    Adaptability Practices
    30 out of 30 points
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year
Over the past year, our charity decided to begin our largest project to date. There is a small and extremely dilapidated school in the rural community of Quickstep, Jamaica. To our knowledge there have been no improvements to its structure for about 40 years or more. We committed to rebuilding a new school. It has not been an easy feat. There have been several delays due to limited supply and shipping delays due to the pandemic. Also our initial budget has been overshot due to rising costs of materials. The delays have lead to pausing the project and/or finding an alternative solution. We have had to put our frustrations aside and be flexible considering all the affects of the pandemic. We have persevered and stayed on task and we just recently completed the most difficult and costly part of construction and finished the roofing. Despite the road blocks the main structure of the school is complete and we are nearing the end of a long road.
