Vision

Our vision is to create a better home and society for Bangladeshi Americans with Intellectual or Developmental Disability (IDD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) living in New York City. At ASHO, we aim to improve the quality of life for individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disability (IDD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and their families in the Bangladeshi American community through informational services for parents and guardians, interactive programs for the youth, and by advocating at local and state levels to implement change in society.

Goals

1. 1.We would like to expand ASHO Benefit Center, our program dedicated to providing assistance with various government and disability services. Due to the location of our office, most of of clients are of south Asian descent. We want to reach families and individuals from different neighborhoods and boroughs.
2. 2.In the future, ASHO plans to launch a Play Program to enhance children's abilities. The sensory room will feature specialized equipment, offering activities beyond a typical home setup. Sensory toys boost cognitive skills, memory, speech, and language while aiding individuals with intellectual disabilities in a stimulating and engaging environment.
3. 3.Lastly, we want to prioritize our Benefit Center to ensure we can provide assistance to as many families and individuals as possible. By expanding our reach and resources, we aim to address the growing needs of underserved communities and empower them with the tools and support necessary for long-term stability and success.
