Mission

Safe Shores provides survivor-centered intervention, hope, and healing for children and families affected by abuse, trauma, and violence in the District of Columbia and works to prevent and end child abuse and neglect through promising practices, policies, and partnerships.

Vision

To stop child abuse and prevent child victims from being retraumatized by the system’s response.

Goals

1.Supporting at least 1,000 child and youth victims of abuse or witnesses to violence
2.Providing 1,500 therapy sessions at no cost to 150 clients
3.Facilitating Caregiver Support Group sessions in both English and Spanish, serving a total of 30 non-offending caregivers across both groups, to provide support from peers and from Safe Shores’ staff
