Colorado Plateau Foundation

Mission

The Colorado Plateau Foundation is a place-based funder that combines grantmaking and programming to build Native-led organizational and community capacity on the Plateau to protect water, protect sacred places and endangered landscapes, promote food security, and preservation of Native languages. We value grantees' knowledge and wisdom to create programs and collaborative strategies that advocate and uplift their communities. We support grantees in reaching their full potential by advising other funders about how and why to invest in Native community-based solutions based on experience that Native people, with their knowledge and abilities, are in the best position to create solutions to the challenges and opportunities they face.

Vision

The Colorado Plateau Foundation envisions thriving Native-led organizations creating movements and momentum in their communities, supported by bold philanthropic giving and a robust shared learning network.

Goals

1.CPF will continue to take direction from Native communities when setting grantmaking priorities and other approaches to address needs on the Plateau, with full recognition that this guidance can change over time.
2.CPF will evolve its grantmaking strategy to include both longer time commitments and greater flexibility in order to support stability and innovation among its grantees.
3.CPF will continue to grow its reputation as a national thought leader always grounded in making choices that will ultimately benefit Native communities on the Plateau.
