Ratings are calculated from one or more beacon scores. Currently, we require either an Accountability & Finance beacon or an Impact & Results beacon to be eligible for a Charity Navigator rating. Note: The absence of a rating does not indicate a positive or negative assessment; it only indicates that we have not yet evaluated this organization.
See rating report below to learn why this organization is not currently eligible.
We recognize that not all metrics and beacons equally predict a charity’s success. The percentage each beacon contributes to the organization’s overall rating depends on the number of beacons an organization has earned.
Use the tool below to select different beacons to see how the weighting shifts when only one, two, or three beacons are earned.
Rating histories are available for a growing number of rated organizations. Check back later to see if this organization has a rating history!
Womenpalante cannot currently be evaluated by our Accountability & Finance methodology due to only having one year of electronically-filed IRS Form 990 data. But please note, that the IRS is significantly delayed in processing nonprofit's annual tax filings. That may mean that this entity has electronically filed additional Forms 990 but they have yet to be processed and made public by the IRS.
To ensure year-to-year consistency the Encompass Rating System's Finance & Accountability beacon analyzes the three-year average of some data provided through the IRS 990.
Charity Navigator currently only has one year of consecutive e-filed Forms 990 from the IRS for Womenpalante under the EIN: 84-2729654.
Before Charity Navigator can evaluate Womenpalante, Womenpalante will need to e-file for additional fiscal years.

This organization was impacted by COVID-19 in a way that effected their financial health in 2020. This normally would have reduced their star rating. Due to the unprecedented nature of the pandemic, we give charities such as this one the opportunity to share the story of COVID's impact on them, and doing this pauses our revision of their rating. Charities may submit their own pandemic responses through their nonprofit portal.
Womenpalante reported being impacted by COVID-19 in the following ways:
Program Delivery
Staffing
How COVID-19 impacted the organization's operations financially:
As an early-stage nonprofit, we were not receiving donations or sponsors. However, during the pandemic we received a grant to implement one of our programs, and also received sponsorships for specific women in our communities. However, COVID19 allowed us to impact more people and reach out more beneficiaries for our programs.
How COVID-19 impacted the organization's delivery of programs:
We realized the deeper needs of the female entrepreneurs community: mental and physical health, lack of business knowledge. From that, we started offering programs more tailored to those needs. We received a direct impact on Gourmetpreneurs programs since the culinary and nutrition classes used to be in person. However we could implement the program with a special team and volunteers.
How this organization adapted to changing conditions caused by COVID-19:
Before the pandemic we offered our programs in person, and now we have the opportunity to provide these programs virtually and impact more women throughout the Americas. We moved our in person programs to virtual. We reviewed and adapt our curriculums and now the lessons learned have been registered.
Innovations the organization intends to continue permanently after the pandemic:
Our virtual programs have been an advantage for us to reach more women. We will continue with it. Also, we have had the chance to work with volunteers, mentors, advisors and even our team members from different countries, which has brought a lot of diversification and opportunities for us and our impacted community. One of our biggest innovations was that we created a new wellness program that helped us to create a community. Right now we will keep that program as part of our core program. Also this was an opportunity to do an online fundraising.
Not Currently Scored

Note: The absence of a score does not indicate a positive or negative assessment, it only indicates that we have not yet evaluated the organization.

How has asking for feedback from the people you serve changed your relationship with them or shifted power - over decisions, resources, rules or in other ways - to them?
Since we are listening to what they need, how they are living their lives, what problems they are facing, how they visualize their lives / businesses in the future, etc., we feel a stronger bond made with each of them. We have witnessed how they have opened their hearts and are more willing to participate in the organization events or programs. Some of them have volunteered to support another woman of the community and that has been wonderful news for us. Also, as Women Palante, being aware of their needs has definitely change the way we plan, organize and develop our operations.
What challenges does your organization face in collecting feedback from the people you serve?
It is difficult to get the people we serve to respond to requests for feedback
Briefly describe a recent change that your organization made in response to feedback from the people you serve.
We decided to focus on our business incubator since we realized a lot of women in our community were struggling a lot with topics of mental health and lack of business knowledge, so we saw an opportunity there to cause a deeper impact in their lives by strengthening this program.

Community Building
Women Palante is committed to achieve each goal, mission and vision that has established. For us it is very important to partner with different organizations when doing programs, events or even advertising. We have realized it is a great way to attract more beneficiares and people who may be interested in impacting our community. Being able to partner with organizations that share our core values, and go to networking events strengthens our efforts to reach more people through a more diversified database of volunteers, mentors, workers and donors. As well as we expect to increase the number of beneficiaries, our current community is very important. Getting to know them individually and how they live their lifes has helped us to offer them more tailored programs/events for their lives development. On social media, we are always focusing on female empowerment, leadership, wellness, professional career, and other aspects involved in the lives of our beneficiaries.
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Since the pandemic, Women Palante has been in constant growth from last year. First, our team members went from 2 to 5 due to partnerships made with universities. Also, being able to hire qualified human resources for marketing purposes has impacted positively our awareness. Second, our volunteer database also grew thanks to networking. We realized how important it is for organizations to establish relationships that can collaborate with us in future or current situations. Third, our virtual services offering was born from the pandemic, so that help us to broaden our perspective about how many things we could do to impact more people with quality programs, events and even our support to them. We were able to reach and impact more women who created new business and worked in their wellness. Aditionally we were able to bring a new Board of Directors and new non profits partnerships that contribute to excel our mission.
