HFLSD has reached out to over 160 other nonprofits in the San Diego community to share our mission and attempt to create ways to collaborate. We have MOUs with 2 other Jewish nonprofits to assist clients. We also participate in networking calls on a regular basis.

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
HFLSD is a new nonprofit that started in October, 2020. We created processes and protocols to begin our loan process, but are continually changing and adapting as we learn more about our community. An example of this is that our loan programs require guarantors, but we developed a San Diego COVID-19 Emergency Fund to help those affected by COVID that could not secure their own guarantors. This fund acts as a guarantor for loan recipients in need. HFLSD has also created Employer Guarantor Programs, where the employer acts as a guarantor for any of their employees. HFLSD continues to develop and create ways to assist the San Diego Jewish community with interest-free loans to help loan recipients reach their financial dreams.
