Kindness Initiative
Mission
Our mission is to alleviate poverty in San Diego's Jewish community by mitigating individual crises and fostering self-sustainability, rooted in kindness, empathy, and Jewish values. Fully dedicated to our Jewish community, we go far beyond crisis response. We walk alongside families, building lives through dignity, education, and personalized one-on-one concierge case management that meets each person exactly where they are.
Vision
A San Diego Jewish community where no individual or family faces poverty alone, where dignity is preserved, hope is restored, and every Jewish individual receives the personalized resources, education, and hands-on support they need to build a stable, independent future. We envision becoming the recognized leader in comprehensive poverty alleviation through our member-centric, customized concierge case management model, supported by our kindnessG'MACH distribution center and, ultimately, a permanent kindnessCENTER that serves as the operational center for compassionate care.
Goals
- 1.As we listen to our members, we're responding to evolving needs. We're expanding case management to serve 300 families and launching new programs: a Work Experience Program for employment pathways, professional volunteer networks, a Single Mother's Program, Support and Focus Groups for isolated populations, and Monthly Sponsored Drives for our kindnessG'MACH.
- 2.We provide direct rent and housing support to prevent homelessness and maintain stability, along with monthly stipends for essential expenses like food, utilities, and transportation. Our kindnessFAMILIES connects generous donors with specific families in need, creating financial support, restore hope, and help families move from crisis to independence.
- 3.Investing in our infrastructure: we're expanding our case management team to serve more families with personalized care, upgrading our CRM systems for better member tracking and outcomes measurement, and hiring dedicated fundraisers and grant writers to secure sustainable funding. These investments ensure we maintain the quality, compassion, and effectiveness that define our work.
