Relief for Hurricane Lane

Relief for Hurricane Lane Header Image
Hurricane Lane, a powerful Category 4 hurricane, is poised to make landfall over or near Hawaii later this week. This is only the second storm of this magnitude to pass near the islands in recorded history.

Officials have issued hurricane warnings and watches for most of the islands. They continue to urge residents to hasten storm preparations, and travel advisories have been posted to protect those traveling to and from the state. Hurricane Lane is threatening Hawaii with strong winds, rough surf, heavy rainfall and coastal erosion. Parts of the coastline are already seeing increased large waves and sizeable swells.

Charity Navigator has compiled a list of highly-rated organizations planning to respond in the aftermath of Hurricane Lane. These organizations will provide assistance to the communities affected by the hurricane. Donors can designate their donations to the cause on the organizations’ websites respectively, or use Charity Navigator’s Giving Basket to complete their donations. Please note, at this time it is not certain that all of these organizations will spend 100% of donations received on Hurricane Lane relief.

You can find more information about inclusion on this list by visiting our 'How Can My Charity Be Added To This List?' page.

Designated donations made from this page will be applied to charity programs per each charity's designation policies.
