The Volunteers In Medicine Clinic is a community-based organization dedicated to meeting the primary health needs of the underserved in the greater Eugene and Springfield metropolitan area. The essence of this philosophy is to optimize the healing environment and improve outcomes for the medically underserved in our community. The structure and process of the clinic is based on people's needs, viewed from a holistic perspective, recognizing the dignity of each individual. We aim to give voice to the population we serve. The clinic has close working relationships with other agencies and institutions, and assists clients in affiliating with other care providers. We emphasize health education and prevention.

We had determined that our Latino/Latina population was still nervous about coming to the clinic for medical services Suggestions were given to connect to this population via their community events/celebrations We hired an Outreach/Interpreter Coordinator who does this as part of her role by participating within the community, having a booth set up to explain more about Volunteers In Medicine Clinic, and address any questions potential patients might have about coming to the clinic In addition, we have changed many of our internal forms to only require the essential data we need on our patients
