Through grassroots education, advocacy and services, Breathe California fights lung disease, advocates for clean air and advances public health. Since 1908, we have empowered individual, institutional and community change for better breathing and healthier living. Breathe California offers a wide array of local services that address the most important lung health issues facing our communities today. This includes programs to: help kids manage their asthma, prevent teens from using tobacco, assist smokers who want to quit, and offer support to emphysema and lung cancer patients. We also advocate for key clean air and public health policies, and support innovative lung health research.
Our Theory of Change:
We believe the Breathe CA comprehensive approach of direct services, advocacy, and education, increases knowledge, confidence and ability in lung health management & treatment, resulting in lower rates of morbidity and mortality, and advancing health equity.
