Human Options' mission is "to provide safe haven and life changing programs to help abused women, their children and families rebuild their lives - and to work with the community to break the cycle of domestic violence." Our services address the emotional, financial and legal challenges domestic violence survivors have to contend with. We aim to break the cycle of domestic violence by providing safety, support and education to help abused women and their children begin reclaiming their lives and finding a way forward.
Human Options has served victims of domestic violence since 1981. In 2015 we reached more clients than ever before: Over 1,900 clients were provided with services in our residential shelters and community based programs; the 24-hour crisis hotline fielded over 4,200 calls for crisis intervention, shelter intake and information and referrals; and the community education program provided information, education and awareness to more than 6,800 community members.
