Miracle Foundation brings life-changing care to orphaned children around the world.

Since our founding on Mother's Day in 2000, the Miracle Foundation has taken a stand for orphaned children. Today there are 8 million children living in institutions around the world. That is unacceptable. Ask any child and they will tell you that their biggest dream is to be part of a loving family - it's where they thrive.

Our "Child First" approach is multi-faceted, collaborative and community-based:
-80% of children living in institutions have a living relative. We make every effort to reunite these children with their birth family, if possible.
-For abandoned children without family - our measurable, systematic method ensures that children are loved, educated, healthy and safe until they transition to a permanent family.
-We actively collaborate with governments, other non-profits and local family-strengthening organizations to transform systems and give children a voice.

Impact Information

data icon Classy created Progress to help nonprofits and social enterprises articulate their performance by combining qualitative insights on program strategies and beneficiaries, with quantitative metrics on social problems, short term outputs and long term intended outcomes.
Program Name: Digital Toolkit for Orphan Care
Problem

People running or working in orphanages in the developing world do not have access to high-quality training and support resources. At the same time, many well-intentioned donors are sending funding to orphanages in the developing world without knowing how well the orphanage is operating or what governance questions to ask in order to find out.

Strategy

We create training videos and put them on our website, paired with downloadable resources. As we get inbound inquiries for support from orphanages and donors around the world, we direct them to the section of the digital toolkit most appropriate. We are available to respond to additional questions and provide support as needed. Training topics include child rights, child protection, life skills education, caregiver training, financial training, and orphanage assessment.

IF:THEN

IF People running or working in an orphanage consume our online training and resources...

THEN the quality of care being given to the children in that orphanage will improve and the children will begin receiving their rights.

IF People donating to an orphanage consume our online training and resources...

THEN they will learn how to assess how well the orphanage is operating, be able to provide any of our resources that the home needs, and learn which governance questions to ask to know the impact their donations are having.
