Impact Information

data icon Classy created Progress to help nonprofits and social enterprises articulate their performance by combining qualitative insights on program strategies and beneficiaries, with quantitative metrics on social problems, short term outputs and long term intended outcomes.
Program Name: Family Resiliency Services (FRS) Program of Hope For The Warriors
Problem

For the last 15 years, service members and veterans have been coming home after serving multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries are pervasive in the Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) veteran populations and pose major challenges to their families and to society. The Family Resiliency Services Program serves all post-9/11 active duty, National Guard and Reserve service members and veterans in the United States.

Strategy

To achieve its goals, FRS aims to significantly decrease the two most common barriers to treatment: Lack of family support and concerns about either reduced or loss of income during inpatient treatment. Program services are delivered primarily through tele-mental health practices. Our Licensed Master Social Workers are trained and practice tele-mental health on a daily basis and also use video-teleconferencing. Services are delivered nationwide from a network of Hope regional offices and staff.

IF:THEN

IF If veterans and service members and their families are supported and strengthened by having access to the needed mental health care services (through the program's financial assistance and treatment/referrals/education),...

THEN then the number of suicides and other serious risks to mental health and well-being can be reduced and society as a whole will benefit from their re-integration into civilian life and long-term contribution to society.
