The mission of Open Door Community House, Inc. is to empower impoverished people in our community to realize their full potential as children of God. Programs include an after-school program with an emphasis on reading & math tutoring in partnership with the school district. These at-risk students are safe in a positive learning place where parents in low paying jobs do not have to worry. STEAM projects & instrumental music instruction are also provided. There is also a full-day Summer Academy. Circles of Columbus ministry works with families to set their own goals to get out of poverty with training, resources & matching of community volunteers. Open Door Institute offers a culinary arts program with graduates earning an average of $6/hour more. A unique showering program for homeless adults to be more employable & healthy, and a transition home for homeless women often from domestic & substance abuse. Welcome Home & HOME are housing programs to help overcome barriers.
