Founded in 1974, People's Light, a professional theatre in Chester County, Pennsylvania, makes plays drawn from many sources to entertain, inspire, and engage our community. We extend our mission of making and experiencing theatre through arts education programs that excite curiosity about, and deepen understanding of, the world around us. These plays and programs bring people together and provide opportunities for reflection, discovery, and celebration.

In our 8-9 play season, we produce classics and contemporary plays, and commission and produce new work: of our 444 productions, over a third (167) have been world or regional premieres. We enhance our stage work with a variety of Surround Activities that connect us with many communities near our 7-acre Malvern campus. Arts Discovery extends our mission with school residencies, student matinees that bring youth from area schools to People's Light each year for free, and a broad array of theatre classes for grades K through 12.
