Church Hill Activities and Training (CHAT) is a system of integrated programs that empower aspiring youth to break cycles of poverty and reach their goals. CHAT began in the Church Hill home of Percy and Angie Strickland, CHAT's CEO and wife, when they opened their home to neighbors for fellowship and food. In February 2007, CHAT acquired a Church Hill property to accommodate its growth. This home, referred to as the “Lighthouse,” has become CHAT's home base of activity. CHAT continues to invest in the lives of aspiring youth, in a city and neighborhood deeply affected by years of structural injustice, with a passionate belief in the power of Christian fellowship to transform communities.
