Through the experience of fly fishing in Montana, Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation (WQW) is a catalyst for positive change in the lives of post-9/11 combat veterans and their loved ones. WQW's restorative fly-fishing experiences directly address the top 3 most pressing issues that warrior participants face: mental & physical health, establishing a network of support outside the military, & the transition to civilian life. All 5 and 6-day programs are offered at no cost to participants & include ground & air transportation, home-cooked meals lovingly prepared by volunteers, & comfortable ADA-accessible accommodations. WQW can also subsidize the expense of a trusted friend or family member to assist with in-home childcare duties for participants if needed. All participants are outfitted with a complete suite of fly-fishing gear to keep. WQW also offers programs specifically for female combat veterans, military caregivers and couples.
