Founded in 2003 by Dr. Mehmet Oz, HealthCorps' mission is to strengthen communities with the most innovative approaches to health and wellness to help the next generation be more resilient.
Working in high need high schools and middle schools, we give teens the tools they need to improve their physical and mental health so they can learn to live more productive and happier lives. Our curriculum represents lessons from over a decade of work and research in many of America's most challenging schools. We offer two programs: the Living Lab, where a HealthCorps Coordinator is placed inside a high need school to teach wellness related classes and HealthCorps University (HCU), where we offer professional development training in the HealthCorps curriculum for the classroom and beyond. We work with educators, community members, and organizational leaders in order to strengthen communities nationwide, utilizing the lessons learned from our Living Labs.
