Impact Information

This charity has reported a measure of cost-effectiveness: how much impact (per dollar) your donation will have on the charity's social outcome. The cost-effectiveness calculation was performed using protocols developed by ImpactMatters, an independent auditor of philanthropic impact.

For nonprofits that run multiple programs, we highlight the impact of one program below.  Learn More about Impact Information.
Program Name: Burundi Graduation Model Program
Program Activities
Concern’s Graduation Model Program sustainably addressed extreme poverty. The graduation approach provides an integrated package of support (social assistance, livelihood development, finance services) to support a pathway out of extreme poverty.
Impact Statement
$200 avoids a month of hunger for a household of five living in extreme poverty.
Methodology
Concern Worldwide conducted a quasi-experimental difference-in-difference study to estimate impact.
Data Source
This evaluation used a mixed methods approach, including: quantitative household surveys (baseline, midline and endline); monitoring survey; and qualitative research (key informant interviews, focus group discussions, case studies, etc.)
Attribution Method
By tracking changes in key outcome indicators among the 2,000 intervention households over time, while controlling for changes in these indicators among 600 control group households, impacts can be quantified that are attributable to the program.
